Assembly instructions

Step 5: Slide your SUP board under the tent through the ground loops. Make sure the board is between the straps and the bottom of the tent. Slide the board through until the sidepipes are approximately centered along the length of the board.

Step 6: Place the straps at the foot and head of the tent around the nose and tail of your SUP board. Close the plastic buckles and tighten the straps so that the inner tent is taut on the board. Once the tent is tense along its length, the four ground straps can be cinched closed. Now your inner tent is firmly mounted on the SUP board. Make sure the straps are really tight and not twisted (see Figure 3).

Step 7: Spread out the flysheet and lay it over the inner tent of the BAJAO Cabin. Make sure that the entrance of the flysheet and the inner tent are on the same side and closed. Next, attach the 2 Velcro straps to the roof ridges and the 8 Velcro straps to the tent poles.

Step 8: Pass the straps of the flysheet (2 each at the nose and tail) under the lashing straps already attached to the board and pull it tight with the hook so that the flysheet is well tensioned (see Figure 4).

Step 9: Your BAJAO Cabin is now fully assembled and ready for use! Depending on the location and type of use, small adjustments are still necessary, which we will explain to you below.

Spend the night on the water

Set up your BAJAO Cabin on your SUP board on land as indicated in steps 1-10.

Then provide a safe, protected anchorage. Be careful not to anchor in the surf, a running water, a shipping zone, an environmental zone, or any other hazardous area. Also, ensure sufficient anchorage by using a suitable anchor or attaching the cabin or SUP board to a jetty or tree. Overnight camping on the water is only recommended in knee-deep water and at your own risk.

Spend the night on land (without board)

Set up your BAJAO Cabin as described in steps 1-10, with minor exceptions.

To sleep on land without the board as a base, you must remove the sidepipes or simply not fill them with air. Otherwise the tent floor would hang down and could tear due to too much tension.

To prevent this, you must close the connection between sidepipes and main chambers described in step 2 or remove the sidepipes altogether. In either case, be sure to close the valves connecting the sidepipes to the main chambers so that no air can enter or escape.

As soon as the sidepipes are disconnected, you can continue to assemble your BAJAO Cabin as described in the instructions and spend the night on land!

Spending the night on the car roof

Assemble your BAJAO Cabin as described in steps 1-10 on your SUP board on land.

Basically, sleeping on the roof of your car is only recommended in calm weather. Make sure your vehicle and roof rack are approved for the weight and not damaged.

With the additional webbings you can now tie the BAJAO Cabin to the roof rack. For additional support, the guy lines can be attached to the roof rack or to the car itself. The tent including the board should be attached to the roof so that nothing can slip.

Notes

BAJAO is constantly developing its products. We reserve the right to change individual components. Illustrations of the assembly instructions may differ from the actual product.

Ventilation

Your tent is equipped with sufficient ventilation possibilities. The formation of condensation is unavoidable. Nevertheless, always ensure good air circulation to minimize condensation. Please do not confuse condensation with moisture penetration.

Care

  • Clean your tent when it is set up. Use only suitable cleaning agents so as not to damage the 2-ply silicone coating. We recommend cold water and a little soap for stubborn dirt. Use only soft cloths.
  • Never put it in the washing machine or dry cleaner, as this can irreversibly destroy the coating. Do not iron.
  • Remove dirt and sand from zippers regularly.
  • Silicone lubricants keep zippers supple. Zippers are wear parts and are not covered by warranty
  • Do not spray suntan lotion or insect spray on the tent walls. This will damage the coating and may cause the tent to leak.

Fire

Open fire and flames are a hazard to tent fabric. Avoid open fire in and in the immediate vicinity of the tent.

Packing

Pack the BAJAO Cabin only dry, clean and free of sand.

First pitching

Test-pitch your tent before using it for the first time to familiarize yourself with the individual pitching steps. Dispose of packing materials properly. For setup, read the setup instructions and/or watch our setup video.

General warnings

  • No open fires in the tent. Set up tent far enough away from fireplaces and protect from flying sparks.
  • Do not use unprotected electronics in the tent. Especially in rain or on water
  • Do not allow tent to come in contact with hot water or steam.
  • Do not pitch during storms
