The name BAJAO

BAJAU on houseboat

You may have wondered where the name BAJAO comes from. It sounds strange at first and not at all like stand up paddling, hiking or camping.
But of course we had something in mind: The Bajao, Bajau or Bajaw are an indigenous tribe on the Malay Archipelago. Because of their way of life in boats, they were counted as sea nomads. Many Bajao have now completely or partially given up the pure life on the sea. However, they still maintain a way of life that is connected to the sea.
For a brand that specializes in SUP touring, we thought the name was very fitting! With this in mind, we hope to welcome many new SUP Nomads.
